The characteristics used to measure the level of morale that employees have largely referring to Maier's opinion stating there are four basic concepts that reflects high morale which, among other things:
a. Excitement or enthusiasm (Zest, Enthusiasm). Maier said that anyone who has a passion in the work means also have the motivation or incentive to work, motivation will be formed if the lack of desire or interest and joy in doing his job. Desires or interests of the employee's work reflects the employee incentive in doing a job. The desire of employees to work a strong say if the employee did not because of feelings of anxiety.
b. Quality to survive (Staying Quality). Every person must have a specific purpose in work and trying to achieve, the greater the individual efforts to overcome difficulties in achieving the goal, showing that the individual has high morale. Maier stated that the individual still trying to reach the original goals despite difficulties, this indicates that the individual has the quality to survive.
c. Strength against frustration (Resistance to Frustation). Maier stated that the different forces against frustrated with the quality to survive, although in general they reflect how the individual is faced obstacles encountered during the work. In this aspect Maier involves an interesting thing to know the individual morale, which is frustrating.
d. Group spirit. Morale Multipal according to the book of Personal Administration; that morale is an individual attitude or the attitude of the individual to work and work environment.
